Itinerary
Enjoy an incredible evening in a historic Buenos Aires café: Café de los Angelitos, a living historical witness to more than 100 years of Buenos Aires' history. The most prominent figures in the political and artistic world of the 20th century have graced its doors.
Let yourself be seduced by the charm, passion, and artistic elegance of Argentina. Every night, 21 artists on stage invite you to share a unique evening.
Café los Angelitos offers an internationally renowned tango show.
The Space
The Café de los Angelitos show takes place in one of Buenos Aires' most iconic cafés, a historic meeting point for Argentine tango, located in the Balvanera neighborhood.
This was the place where Carlos Gardel established his "barra" in 1912, beginning his artistic career in collaboration with José Razzano. Years later, in 1944, Razzano composed a famous tango with lyrics by Cátulo Castillo that bears the café's name. Upon entering, you're greeted by the distinctive café, but the show takes place in a cozy theater, accessible by crossing an elegant velvet curtain that welcomes you into an unforgettable experience.
The Show
Precision and Dynamism Since September 2005, the show has explored the history of tango from the 1920s to Piazzolla, with a touch of modernity. A 360-degree experience with a dynamic and energetic show that surrounds the audience in a very special atmosphere.
The tango show at Café de los Angelitos is a complete experience that stands out for its ability to narrate the evolution of tango throughout the years, from 1920 to the present day, using costumes as a common thread.
From the moment spectators enter the café, they are welcomed by an elegant and welcoming atmosphere, where the decor pays homage to the rich history of tango. The soft lighting and the table settings create an intimate setting, ideal for enjoying an unforgettable evening.
It consists of an orchestra made up of five musicians (violin, piano, double bass, and two bandoneons), two singers (one woman and one man), and six pairs of dancers. Tango returns from myth to become an intense reality, through a different live show, in which bodies are guided as if in a trance, by what the bandoneon dictates, and explode into an inexhaustible ecstasy of pleasure.
