Itinerary
The famous penguin parade will lure you to visit the beautiful township of Phillip island but a Day Tour with Oceania Tours will allow you to discover so much more, including: Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park, Woolamai Surf Beach (time permitting) and the Nobbies. And finally, to the island’s black tie gala event: the Penguin Parade.
About Phillip Island
Unlike other islands in the region, Phillip Island combines breathtaking wild scenery with first class, eco-friendly tourist attractions.
The island is, of course, famous for the little penguins, whereas it may be surprising to learn that the island is also home to a plethora of Australian animals.
You will find one of Australia’s most important fur seal colonies, koalas, kangaroos, not to mention the varied bird life.
About the Penguin Parade
If you haven’t yet seen the little penguins waddling in groups over the sand dunes into their burrows, you are in for a treat.
Upgrades
Penguins Plus - Includes entrance to a separate platform to one side of the beach, limited to 240 people thus enabling you better viewing.
Underground viewing - Close-up viewing of the little penguins through an underground, protected viewing window, and therefore a warmer spot in the winter.
Ranger-Guided Tour - In English via headset with a ranger for a small group. Binoculars included
Your unforgettable day will commence with a visit to Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park where you are guaranteed plenty of close encounters with an array of Australian native animals like kangaroos, wombats and echidnas.
Next, we will head to Phillip Island where, time/season permitting, we will take you to Woolamai Surf Beach to catch a glimpse of the awesome waves and die-hard surfers.
Following this, we then travel over to the dramatic west coast of the island.
At the Nobbies, you will stroll along the boardwalk to experience the waves crashing along this dramatic coastline and perhaps spot a few seals and some penguin nests.
Finally, your Phillip Island Day Tour is not complete without its black tie gala event: the Penguin Parade. You will firstly head to the Visitor Centre to shop and have a coffee.
Then last but certainly not least, you will meander along the boardwalk to the viewing platform.
It’s time to relax and let the show begin.
The little penguins will waddle ashore, decked out in their tuxedos as they hurry off to find their burrows.
At the end of the evening, your Oceania Guide will take you back to your Melbourne hotel.
* Warm and waterproof clothing is recommended in all seasons
