Auckland Museum is situated in the picturesque Auckland Domain, a large park in central Auckland.
The Museum can be easily reached from any part of the city, by car or public transport. It is a 30-minute walk or a 10-minute drive from the city centre.
BUS
The LINK Bus stops on nearby Parnell Road.- Bus route 781 goes from Mission Bay to Newmarket and Auckland Museum via Orakei, every 30 minutes during peak hours.
TRAIN
Auckland Museum is a 10-minute walk from Parnell station (Western and Southern lines), a 16-minute walk from Grafton Station (Western line), and an 18-minute walk from Newmarket Station (Western and Southern lines).
DRIVING AND PARKING
If you are driving, secure undercover paid parking is available. Enter from Maunsell Road, which is on the Newmarket side of the Domain. Our car park uses license plate recognition. When you enter the car park, the barrier arm will automatically raise for you. Your payment amount will automatically be calculated based on when you enter the car park.
