After picking you up from the hotel, we will start the Lima city tour at the wonderful Larco Museum, located in the traditional neighborhood of Pueblo Libre. The museum was founded by the Peruvian archaeologist Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926, in a beautiful mansion with amazing gardens dating from the eighteenth century.
The Larco Museum is really impressive. We will appreciate a complete collection of more than 5000 pieces of pre-Columbian art made with gold and silver, as well as ceramics, and erotic art. Chronologically, we will stroll through incredible salons to learn about ancient Peruvian civilizations.
The tour continues in the historic center of Lima. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, this place houses awesome squares, colonial mansions, and a lot of history. We will visit Casa de Aliaga, a colonial house built in 1536, full of invaluable art and history. Until now, this jewel of architecture is still inhabited by descendants of the Jeronimo de Aliaga y Ramirez family, a Spanish conqueror and ally of Francisco Pizarro.
We will continue towards the Main Square, where the city of Lima was founded in 1535, and where the Independence of Peru was declared officially in 1821. During the time of viceroyalty, this square was used as a market, and also, as the place where executions were carried out.
We are going to have the opportunity to admire historical places such as the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Municipal Palace, and other important buildings of the colonial time. We will visit the Cathedral of Lima, declared a Cultural Heritage Site, built in the sixteenth century by Spanish conquers.

We’ll pick you up from the hotel, and start the half-day trip visiting the Temple of Coricancha, also known as Golden Temple, for its gold richness that this place housed. This symbolic place is a clear example of the fusion between Incan and Hispanic cultures, and during the Spanish conquer, the temple’s base was used to build the church and Convent of Santo Domingo.
Then, we’re going to visit the Cusco Cathedral located in the Plaza de Armas, to appreciate the beautiful religious paintings of the Cusco School. Also, it was declared a World Cultural Heritage, as well as a Historic Monument of Peru. The beauty of the main square will surprise you. Surrounded by commerce and impressive churches, this place was previously a lagoon, and it was dried up during the Inca time, and used for important celebrations. Now, it is the main tourist meeting point of Cusco.
The tour continues to the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman, an amazing place with huge carved stone walls that perfectly fit each other, and it is said that it was built by more than 20 thousand men, and took over 70 years to finish. Located 2 Km. away from the city of Cusco, this Incan Fortress has amazing landscapes, and it houses llamas and hawks. Later, we will visit the religious temple of Qenqo, the place where the Incas worshiped their Gods like the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth. You will have an incredible experience exploring through its underground passageways, and admire a semicircular amphitheater.
We will continue this entertaining excursion in the military compound of Puca Pucara, which means “Red Fortress” for its reddish infrastructure. Then we will go to the water’s worship center of Tambomachay, with aqueducts and waterfalls provided from nearby springs. The Inca civilization had an advanced and surprising construction engineering. After finishing the tour we are going to drop you off at the hotel located in Cusco City.
Transfer to the train station. We will travel with the Vistadome train to the town of Aguas Calientes, whose glass windows allow incredible views during the journey. The route follows the course of the Urubamba or Vilcanota river descending more and more and entering a canyon until arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes, located at the foot of the mountain of Machu Picchu. We will board our minibusses to ascend to the vestiges of the Sacred citadel of the Incas: "Machu Picchu". We will visit its terraces, passages, temples, the solar clock or "Intihuatana", and other sacred places that this citadel guards. In the afternoon, we go back to the town to take the return train. On our last day in Cusco, we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The tour starts at the traditional Pisac Market, and have some free time to look around and buy local crafts. We will have lunch at a traditional restaurant in the area. In the afternoon, continue to Ollantaytambo, a picturesque village that has been inhabited since the Inca times, where we will visit the temple that was used as a fortress during the Inca resistance.
